It was mighty cold that night on top of the hill.
We stay overnight then do more sightseeing the next day. Here we are buying train tickets.
We went to the lovely little touristy town of Szenhendre which is full of fun llittle shops.
In the restaurant with the Jensens and the rest of the group.
On our drive to Budapest we pass field after field of this yellow plant. They use them for some kind of oil.
YSA Easter Party--We dyed eggs, had egg wars, did relays, ate traditional Easter food.
Virgil and Michael fighting it out for the championship. You can see the bracket Virgil drew on the blackboard behind. Michael won.
Spoon and egg relay. Demi, an investigator, and Sister Woffendin neck to neck.
Fan the egg relay.
For sewing class I made a bunny out of an old flannel sheet but decided it was a little too hard. So I made another one and gave them to the sisters. "Some bunny loves you."Flavius (?) is from Brazil and is a member of the church attending the university at Debrecen. He came to church Sunday so we invited him to dinner.
Our American Michael is from Pennsylvania. He attends Indiana University and is here doing work on his doctorate in linguistics. He is a Catholic but likes to hang out with us and comes to everything.
This is our international group that we had to Sunday dinner--four continents represented.
Pancake night--our typical spread--two waffle irons, a griddle, toppings.
Hortobagy--We went to Hortobagy with the Jensens. Hortobagy has lots of celebrations during the year and twice a year they have one for the driving out of the cattle and another one for driving in the cattle. It was a great day to go because there was lots going on.
Hungarian Fold dances
Lots of people in traditional dress.
We ate Hungarian food at a lovely restaurant.
This guy was playing the violin and singing inside the restaurant. Beautiful! What could be better.
More traditional dress.
Curley-horned sheep
Hungarian cowboys cracking whips.
They had a program that we watched from afar.
