This is October activitie days with my primary girls and their mothers. We made the toilet paper pumpkins, frosted Halloween cookies , played Halloween Bingo and Don't Eat Pete. I made Swig sugar cookies and to flatten them you dip a glass into sugar and mash them out. I don't know how it happened but I dipped it in salt! We frosted them anyway and let the missionaries eat them (with ample warning)
This is a really sweet family that we have visited with a lot since we have been here. I work with the mother in Primary. She teaches every other month. They invited us to dinner one Saturday which was so sweet of them. It was all delicious!
This is how we watched general conference at the church. This TV was for the English speakers; the Hungarian speakers listened in another room.
FHE--once a month for FHE we have a Family History night and work on our personal histories. First we have a lesson and someone tells about the life of an ancestor, then we have a topic that we write on for about 20-30 minutes.
The elders were invited to dinner by this sweet neni that they are teaching. They can't go to dinner appointments alone with a single female (even if she is 3-4 times their age) so they invited us along. She served duck and it was pretty good--the first time I have tasted it.
The elders are the beneficiaries of my cooking night with Otillia. She comes over about every 2-3 weeks and we make something Hungarian. This night was pogacsa and tok fozelek. I also made Csirek paprikas to eat it with. Sorry I didn't get a picture of Otillia.
Friday Night Activity food demonstration. We asked Barby and Etelka to demonstrate kokoa kalasc, a delicious Hungarian sweet bread. Michael is giving it a try--rolling it very very thin.

Csaba is a branch member who had a stroke and needed help stacking his wood. We did it last October also with the sisters. This time we brought the elders.

We also had Senior Conference in October. We go in for two days The first day we have training and talks. Elder Steel and I gave our goodbye talks (with 3 months to go.) The conferences are always wonderful and lots of fun. Later that first night we play games.
The 2nd day we go sightseeing. Half the group went outside Budapest. There are three attractions around the bend in the Danube. The first is Szentendre that we went to several months ago. The 2nd is Visegard Castle.

We had a wonderful weekend of October 18, 19th. Richard , a friend of our family and an administrator of seminary and institutes came to Debrecen. He brought with him a couple of local seminary coordinators. We invited Miskolc to our seminary class that Roberta taught so we had a large attendence. We are so blessed to have Roberta in our Branch. She is so on-the-ball.

We had a dinner break and then a fireside that they taught and it was so good! The wonderful things were that we were able to get inactives to come so they could talk to them on a one on one, we had great attendance, and the fireside was just like listening to general authorities. THEN on Sunday (we really worked Richard0 we taught the combined youth class, and a combined RS/Priesthood class. I was on such a high. We were so blessed to have him come to Debrecen.
We invited him to Sunday lunch afterwards--a very American potato bar.
